Our Mission

Founded by the CT State Building Trades Council in 2022, The CT Building Trades Training Institute (BTTI) is a construction readiness program that will prepare CT residents interested in applying for and/or entering into a registered union apprenticeship; especially those from historically marginalized populations such as females, returning citizens, veterans, communities of color and opportunity youth.

Building your Path

Welcome

The following are required for participation in the program.

  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Have a valid CT state driver’s license OR CT State Learner's Permit.
  • Be physically capable of doing construction work.
  • Be drug free.
  • Have reliable transportation.

Program specifics:

  • 40 total hours/1 week (Monday thru Friday) 7am-3:30pm
  • Program is unpaid but supportive services are available.
  • All materials are paid for, there is no cost to the student.
  • Students can earn various construction certifications and trainings including:
    • First Aid/CPR
    • OSHA 10
    • Aerial/Scissor Lift
    • Flagging
    • Construction Math
    • Introduction to the Trades
